Sciatica, or best called sciatic nerve pain, is a group of several symptoms instead of one type of condition, disease, or syndrome. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve found within the human body and it helps connect the legs and feet to the rest of the body by the central nervous system, also called the CNS. According to many doctors and scientists alike, several different types of health issues, such as a spinal misalignment or a herniated disc as well as several other health issues that affect any area of the human body near the sciatic nerve, can cause inflammation that will push and press against the sciatic nerve. Sciatic nerve pain, or sciatica, is commonly identified by pain and discomfort, tingling sensations, and numbness as well as other common symptoms. Many patients will visit a doctor with low back pain and several other symptoms where they will then find out that they have sciatica, or sciatic nerve pain, because of another health issue like a spinal misalignment or a herniated disc. Chiropractors use spinal adjustments to treat low back pain, sciatica, and other conditions, diseases, or syndromes associated with the musculoskeletal and nervous system. The careful and gentle manual manipulations that a doctor of chiropractic uses can help realign the person’s spine to relieve their symptoms. Chiropractors can also use several other treatment options together with the spinal adjustments to give patients the relief they deserve, such as ice/cold therapy, ultrasound, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation or a TENS unit. If a person’s sciatic nerve pain, or sciatica, is caused by excess weight or obesity, the doctor of chiropractic can also recommend diet and lifestyle changes to help promote weight loss as well as overall health and wellness. The video above briefly discusses sciatica and how chiropractic care is one of the best treatments for sciatic nerve pain and other problems.
[00:00:19] So, today I want to speak to you guys about sciatica. What is sciatica? Sciatica is the compression of the spinal nerve that runs all the way to the feet or sometimes it stops at the cap. The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body and it is instrumental to the body because it connects the feet to the central nervous system. What are the symptoms of sciatic nerve pain?
[00:00:42] It is lower back pain. It is hip pain. It is pain in the buttocks. It is pain that radiates all the way to your feet. Pain that is caused by sitting up, making it difficult for a person to even try to stand from a sitting position. There are a lot of patients that walk here, walk into the clinic and are unaware of what is wrong with them. They’re just like, “You know what? My hip is hurting.” They are unable to walk without any type of help.
[00:01:11] One of the things that people love most about Dr. Jimenez is that he is homeopathic. He does try natural treatments first before trying to even send you to get surgery. Non-invasive is our way. He does things that other doctors do not do. Another great thing that Dr. Jimenez offers his patients is rehab. We have personal trainers and physical therapists that are going to help you strengthen those muscles from in case you do have another flare. Your muscles will be so strong and your body will be ready for it. There will be no need for any type of surgery. You are looking for sciatica relief without the invasive procedures, without the needles, without the shots, without the prescriptions. You have to come with Dr. Jimenez, honestly, because he has by far, hands down the best solution for your sciatica problem.
