The human body has natural mobility and flexibility to ensure that all structures and functions are working properly. Mobility refers to performing functional movements with no restrictions in range of motion (ROM). Flexibility can involve strength, balance, or coordination. A person with great flexibility may not perform the same functional movements as a person with great mobility. However, flexibility is a fundamental mobility component.
