El Paso HS Sports (Local) RSS

Young athletes in El Paso HS sports wish to be just like the sports stars on television. El Paso, TX. Chiropractor, Dr. Alex Jimenez, presents local high school sports stories that will inspire and educate others as well as young aspiring players. What child doesn’t dream to make the winning goal, touchdown, etc… Recently children and adolescents have begun to train like professional athletes. However, this presents a problem, as young athletes participating in various sports are developing injuries, including low back pain and sciatica, at a much higher rate than ever before. Most of these injuries come from repetition and overuse called Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI). What happens is, these kids are playing the same sport all year round. Before, a child would play one sport in summer and a different one in the winter. Today, children are specializing in one sport in hopes of getting a competitive edge. A sports chiropractor is trained to treat RSI’s in all age groups and can provide education on proper form, training, nutrition and rest/recovery in order to achieve a balanced lifestyle. Depending on the injury, including low back pain and sciatica, a chiropractor may request ultrasound, x-rays, or electric stimulation. A chiropractor can help improve performance on and off the field by helping their bodies function at an optimum level.
