Probiotics

Probiotics: Probiotics are defined as microorganisms that are believed to provide health benefits when consumed. The term probiotic is currently used to name ingested microorganisms associated with benefits for humans and animals. Probiotics include foods (i.e. yogurt), dietary supplements, and products that are not ingested orally like skin lotions. Bacteria and other microorganisms often thought of as harmful “germs,” however, a lot of these microorganisms help our bodies to function properly. Bacteria that are present in our intestines help to digest food, destroy disease-causing microorganisms that can cause inflammation, and produce vitamins. A large number of microorganisms live on and in our bodies. Microorganisms in the human body outnumber human cells  ten to one. Many of these microorganisms especially in probiotic products are similar to microorganisms that naturally live in our bodies. Dr. Jimenez examines how these microorganisms help an individual to become healthy and stay healthy, especially by preventing inflammation which can be associated with chronic pain and sciatica.
